Probiti — Switched on

Technology built around
how your venue trades.

We work with pubs, restaurants, and bars across Melbourne, from inner-north locals to multi-venue operators.

01

Networks & Connectivity

Your venue's technology runs on its network. When that fails, everything fails.

We make sure your internet connection is right for how you actually trade, not just what was cheapest when it was set up. That means the right NBN plan, reliable WiFi across every corner of the venue, and failover so a dropped connection doesn't take down your EFTPOS on a Saturday night.

We also look at whether your guest WiFi is properly separated from your operational network. Because it usually isn't.

The outcome is a network built around your trade, not around what was easiest at the time.

02

Microsoft 365 & Cloud

Email, file sharing, and team tools. Set up properly and kept running without the headaches.

We regularly find venues still running decade-old email setups. Bigpond addresses, IMAP configurations, shared inboxes with no password policy and no multi-factor authentication. It works until it doesn't. When it fails, it usually means a compromised account, a fraudulent invoice, or worse.

We move venues off legacy email and onto Microsoft 365. Proper business email on your own domain, with the security controls that should have been there from the start. Multi-factor authentication, spam and phishing protection, and no more worrying about what happens when a staff member leaves with access to a shared inbox.

It's not a big migration. Most venues are surprised how straightforward it is.

The goal is fewer small mistakes turning into expensive problems.

03

Phones & Communications

In a pub, the phone isn't just a contact number. It's part of how the venue runs.

We look at how your incoming calls are handled, what happens when you miss them, and whether customers can reach you without pulling staff off the floor. That means understanding how your venue actually operates before touching anything — peak periods, staffing, how bookings come in — then designing call flows and queues around that reality.

A well-configured IVR answers the questions customers are already calling to ask. Hours, location, parking, booking links, upcoming events. The right information, upfront, every time. Your staff stay focused on the floor.

For venues still on ageing on-premise phone hardware, we move them to fully hosted systems that are easier to manage, cheaper to run, and don't require a technician on-site to make changes. Update your hours, record a new greeting, add a new staff member. Done remotely, same day.

We also make sure your IVR and after-hours messages actually reflect what's happening at the venue. Current trading hours, upcoming events, public holidays, kitchen close times.

For larger venues we look at whether your phone system can work harder internally too. Bar to kitchen, function space to main bar, upstairs to downstairs.

The goal is a phone system designed around your trade, not inherited from a previous owner.

Digital Visibility & GEO

Being found online used to mean ranking on Google. That's still important, but it's no longer the whole picture.

More and more, people are finding venues through AI-powered search. When someone asks their phone or a chatbot "best pub in Brunswick" or "where should we go for a parma in Fitzroy," the answer comes from how well your venue's information is structured online, not just whether you're running ads.

We work with venues to make sure the basics are solid. Accurate listings, correct structured data, consistent information across every platform. The right signals in place for both traditional search and the AI tools that are increasingly driving discovery.

It's an emerging space. We're already in it.

Common questions.

Do I need a dedicated IT company for my venue, or can I just use a general IT provider?

A general IT provider will keep your computers running. A hospitality-focused provider understands that your EFTPOS, WiFi, POS system, and phones all need to work together under pressure, especially on a busy Friday night. The difference shows when something goes wrong at the worst possible time.

How do I know if my venue's IT setup is actually a problem?

Most venues don't have bad IT. They have IT that's mostly fine until a busy night exposes the cracks. If you've ever had WiFi drop during service, EFTPOS slow down, or staff unable to reach the office because the phone system is playing up, those are the cracks.

What's the first thing Probiti does when working with a new venue?

We start with an assessment, looking at what's already in place and triaging by what actually matters to your operation. We don't start with products or contracts.

Do you lock venues into long contracts?

No. Some venues just want peace of mind. Some fix a few things. Some engage ongoing. All outcomes are valid.

What happens if something goes wrong during a busy service?

That's exactly the scenario we plan for. We apply what we call the Friday Night Test to every system in your venue. If this fails at 8pm on a Friday, what happens? That question shapes how we prioritise and what we fix first.

How do I make sure my venue is protected when staff leave?

Staff turnover is one of the most common security gaps in hospitality. When someone leaves, their access to email, shared drives, POS systems, and WiFi passwords needs to be revoked immediately. We make sure that process is in place before it becomes a problem.

Can you help us set up IT for a new venue or second location?

Yes. We can plan and execute the full IT setup for a new venue, including network infrastructure, phones, email, and any integrations with your existing operation. Starting from scratch is actually easier than fixing a patchwork of legacy systems.

Our phone system is ancient. Is it worth replacing?

Almost certainly yes. Most venues are still running on hardware that's years out of date, paying more than they should, and missing out on features that would make a real operational difference. A fully hosted system means no on-site hardware to maintain, changes made remotely, and a phone setup that actually works for how your venue runs.
